Full Revamp of a Mental Health Software Product in 6 Months

About the Customer

The Customer is a US-based mental health management startup that helps people find balance, build stress resistance, improve their attention span, and prioritize their mental health.

To make its product more effective and convenient for users, the Customer wanted to revamp it completely. The company was looking for an experienced healthcare technology partner to implement new software logic, features, and user flows into the web app.

Healthcare IT Experts to Revamp a Mental Health App

ScienceSoft rapidly assembled a project team comprising a project manager, a front-end developer, and a back-end developer.

The Customer needed flexibility in the project scope, so we decided to follow Scrum methodology and split the mental health software modernization into 1–2-week iterations. ScienceSoft’s team kept the Customer’s product owner informed on the progress during daily syncs and demos.

In 6 months, ScienceSoft finalized the application’s redesign and delivered the revamped product with a comprehensive suite of mental health management tools. The final solution featured:

• An admin web application for the Customer’s employees.
• An admin web application for the Customer’s B2B clients (e.g., enterprises, educational institutions).
• A web application for the end users of the mental health product (individual consumers, enterprise employees, students, etc.).

Upgraded Features for the Mental Health Product

ScienceSoft introduced the following new features to the mental health product:

• A game therapy module providing a set of simple games accompanied by calming audio that helps manage anxiety and process overwhelming emotions.
• An audio therapy module providing a library of sounds tailored to the user’s mood, activity, or time of the day (over 50 categories to choose from).
• Accompanying calming visuals for the audio therapy.
• Personal AI-generated mental health recommendations based on the user’s activity in the app.

ScienceSoft also optimized and redesigned mood tracking feature (including mood, habits, activity, and progress log), login feature, and application home page.

For the Customer’s admins, ScienceSoft implemented a set of analytics features that enabled:

• Daily and monthly active user monitoring.
• Separate usage analytics for different mental health app features to determine their popularity with the end users and enable A/B testing.

Mental Health App Modernization Finished in 6 Months

In six months, ScienceSoft redesigned the Customer’s mental health software product and introduced new features, like game therapy, audio therapy, audio visualization, and more. The delivered functionality and improved user flows will help the Customer’s clients stabilize their moods, adhere to healthy daily routines, increase their focus, relax, and improve sleep.
