Cross-Platform Trip Booking App Rated 4.9 on App Store
Customer
The Customer is a US travel agency that promotes wild nature resorts in forests and mountains as well as weekend stays on farms, ranches, and vineyards.
Challenge
Despite already having a website with responsive design, the Customer wanted to ensure client loyalty by introducing even better user experience on mobile devices. The Customer wanted to complement their website with mobile applications for iOS and Android, yet lacked the competencies in mobile app development.
Solution
Upon discussing the project with ScienceSoft, the Customer chose to have both iOS and Android apps developed with React Native to reduce the time and costs of implementation.
ScienceSoft’s team of a project manager, 2 React Native developers, and a testing engineer launched the project in under 2 weeks after the Customer’s initial request. They worked on the development of 2 mobile apps for 6 months, using Agile methodology with 2-3 week-long sprints and regularly presented demos to showcase the progress to the Customer.
The developed apps reflect website functionality and cover the following features:
- Account settings (Guest/Host Profile, Change Password)
- Locations categories
- Search map and search results
- Location details
- Favorite locations
- Trip rating
- Trip history
- Payment (PayPal, Stripe)
- Booking confirmation.
Results
After the apps were published on App Store and Google Play, they were very warmly received by users (4.9 and 4.4 scores respectively). The users especially praise the smooth performance and feel of the apps, thus proving that cross-platform technology brings near-native experience.
