Getting a Multi-Vendor DWH Development Project Back on Track

Challenge

One of the world’s leading stock market regulators commissioned two subcontractors to develop its data analytics solution. The communication and knowledge sharing among the vendors’ 30+ stakeholders was poorly organized and slowed down the project. Additionally, the vendors didn’t have structured workflows for processing change requests, which ultimately resulted in scope creep. About 40% of the project’s duration was spent on communication alone. 

Our solution

ScienceSoft helped the institution formalize requirements gathering and change processing. We reorganized the development teams into 10 smaller, more manageable units, established optimal meeting and reporting schedules, and set up a shared knowledge repository to enhance progress visibility. Thanks to our assistance, the client eliminated redundant communication, accelerated development, and took the project scope back under control.

Rescuing Insurance Software Revamp From Prior Vendor Missteps

Challenge

A property insurance brokerage reached out to the original developer of its custom insurance system for urgent software bug fixing and revamp. The software had incomplete documentation, and the development company neglected communication with the client, which hampered the project pace. Plus, changes were deployed and tested directly in the production environment, so the unfixed defects immediately disrupted operational flows.

Our solution

In just a week, ScienceSoft audited the client’s legacy software and created a plan for a smooth revamp, including rearchitecting and refactoring guidelines. Additionally, we analyzed the existing project workflows, identified bottlenecks, and helped the company implement standardized practices for software documentation, reporting, communication, and change management. The company got a clear picture of the software issues and could start the fixes promptly and with minimal risks. Our advice on the optimal tech stack and team composition helped the Client reduce project costs and speed up system revamp.

Securing Enterprise Data Flows for a Multi-Billion-Dollar Conglomerate Against Fragmentation

A global conglomerate with 30+ businesses across retail, BFSI, and logistics struggled with dozens of siloed IT systems. CRMs, ERPs, POS, and supply chain tools all operated independently, and data had to be transferred manually, delaying decisions and causing errors. The lack of data consolidation also rendered advanced loyalty programs, real-time analytics, and group-wide reporting impossible, leaving the company unable to fully capitalize on its scale.

Our solution

ScienceSoft’s architects presented four different integration scenarios, each backed by a detailed technology stack recommendation. Every option guaranteed that data across the conglomerate’s diverse systems would remain clean, consistent, secure, and instantly accessible. The new integration foundation gave the conglomerate the ability to scale and connect future systems with ease. This positioned the company to innovate faster, expand more flexibly, and fully capitalize on its global scale.

Ensuring GAMP4-Compliant Oncology and TPN Drug Production Without Disruptions

Challenge

A multinational pharmaceutical company relied on outdated, fragmented IT to manage oncology and TPN drug production. Modules for dispensing and nutrition were disconnected and manually updated, creating operational bottlenecks and compliance risks. Ordering still relied on fax and phone, and the legacy system failed GAMP4 standards, threatening regulatory compliance and patient safety.

Our solution

ScienceSoft delivered a GAMP4-compliant, full-cycle system for automating the production and ordering of chemotherapy and TPN drugs. The architecture unified production, stock control, invoicing, reporting, and security into a cohesive solution. Key functions included automated recipe validation, least-waste compounding logic, and secure tracking of every production step. The solution has sustained uninterrupted, reliable performance for over 10 years, reflecting the strategic architectural decisions made by ScienceSoft’s team.

Delivering a Cost-Aware Streaming and Analytics Platform for Telecom

Challenge

A Texas-based telecom provider needed a platform to collect and analyze data from 10+ sources. The legacy setup couldn’t support multi-tenancy, high-velocity telemetry, or predictive analytics. Limited scalability and poor performance created cost inefficiencies and prevented accurate churn prediction or trend detection.

Our solution

ScienceSoft delivered a scalable, multi-tenant big data platform that enabled the client and its tenants to gain actionable insights into customer behavior across 30+ dimensions. The architecture leveraged AWS, Apache Kafka, and ROLAP cubes to provide reliable, real-time data streaming, storage, and analytics while ensuring tenant-level access and security. By combining cost-efficient solutions like Amazon Spot Instances and load balancers with a thoughtfully designed data pipeline, the platform reduced AWS computing costs by 80% without compromising performance.

Succeeding Where Other Vendors Failed: Quick Scrum-Based Delivery of Digital Imaging Software

Challenge

A global leader in image processing contracted ScienceSoft to develop innovative software products for digital imaging. The client had a negative experience outsourcing to offshore IT vendors in the past, so it had high demands for project management and Agile processes. At some point, the company hired one more vendor to run one of its software projects in parallel. However, the vendor failed to deliver on the client’s expectations. The client turned to ScienceSoft for additional competencies to take over the failing project.

Our solution

ScienceSoft’s Scrum Master managed to establish the scoping, communication, and change management flows that ensured rapid progress and fully aligned with the client’s preferred collaboration format. With well-organized project workflows and robust PM practices, the team was able to deliver each software product within 4 months. The flexible resource scaling on ScienceSoft’s side allowed the client to optimize development costs while quickly increasing the resource capacity when needed. The collaboration lasted nearly 5 years and resulted in 12 software products, 6 of which were developed by ScienceSoft end to end.
