Key Qualities of CoE-Backed Teams
Technically ahead of the curve
The CoE keeps our engineers, architects, business analysts, and DevOps specialists ahead of the curve by deliberately building skills that are soon to be in demand. We continuously track technology platform roadmaps (cloud providers, enterprise software platforms, frameworks, and tools), market and analyst reports, pre-sales demand, industry shifts, and direct signals from the engineering community — often the first to encounter new technical challenges in real projects. These insights flow directly into the CoE’s internal R&D agenda, working-group focus areas, certification paths, and targeted upskilling programs, ensuring our teams are ready before new technologies become mainstream.
Industry- & project-aware
Having spent decades serving demanding industries like healthcare and BFSI, we know how to train our teams on niche domain standards and workflows. But systems, integrations, and data flows can vary widely even within the same industry. Without project-specific preparation, teams lose time early and miss delivery risks. Our CoE ensures ScienceSoft teams learn your environment upfront, so engineers don’t burn project time figuring out how your world works.
Delivery-ready from day one
Understanding the environment is one thing; delivering valuable output fast is another. Thanks to the CoE, ScienceSoft’s teams arrive already organized, with clear roles, processes, and access to tools, templates, and reusable assets. They can avoid ramp-up delays and maintain high productivity throughout the project.
Stable and high-performing
A strong team that leaves halfway through the project is worse than a weak one. The CoE ensures specialists stay engaged, growing, and committed through individual development plans, challenging projects and R&D, recognition, fair compensation, and career growth. For you, this means low team turnover and minimal risk of losing a valuable engineer at the worst possible time — you get a reliable team that finishes what it started.
Resilient by design
No team is insured against all risks — unexpected events happen. Our CoE is built for continuity: multidisciplinary engineers, shared ownership of work, and disciplined knowledge-sharing and documentation prevent single-person dependency. If a key specialist becomes unavailable, another qualified engineer will be ready to step in within days without knowledge loss, delivery slowdowns, or added risk for your project.
How the Technology & Competency CoE Works
At the heart of the CoE is a core team of 100+ senior technology experts: software engineers, project managers, business analysts, quality assurance engineers, DevOps and security specialists, data analysts, and more. These are the people with the deepest technical and domain expertise and years of hands-on project experience. They lead technical interviews and assessments, mentor others, solve the toughest challenges, and act as the backbone of ScienceSoft’s talent pool.
The CoE also closely collaborates with ScienceSoft’s PMO, Architecture & Solutions CoE, and resource managers:
- Alongside PMO, the CoE monitors team performance and evolving skill needs, stepping in with coaching, mentoring, or targeted upskilling when gaps arise.
- Working with the architects, the CoE converts proven designs, frameworks, and R&D results into immediately usable assets for project teams.
- Collaborating with resource managers, the CoE ensures the right people are trained and retained across the company.

Working groups (WG) are focused clusters of talent drawn from the CoEs’ core teams and other top performers across delivery. They serve as living hubs of knowledge and innovation and are primarily organized around business domains such as Healthcare and BFSI. Within each domain, technology verticals (e.g., AI engineering, cybersecurity, analytics) provide specialized expertise to address domain-specific challenges.
