Mary Zayats is Executive Director of Solution Design & Competencies and Financial IT & AI Principal Consultant at ScienceSoft. With extensive experience in business analysis, IT consulting, and competency development, Mary leads ScienceSoft’s solution design and sets strategic direction for the competencies behind successful delivery.

Mary joined ScienceSoft in 2016 as Business Analyst and quickly became involved in complex projects for investment, banking, payments, and corporate finance. Over the years, she took on increasing responsibility for project scoping, requirements engineering, and software consulting, while also mentoring and developing other business analysts.

Mary was promoted to Head of Business Analysis in 2024, where she led a team of 40+ analysts and consultants. Her thoughtful, people-focused leadership and ability to align individual strengths with project needs helped make the Business Analysis function one of ScienceSoft’s top-performing divisions.

Recognized for her impact, in 2025, Mary was entrusted to head one of ScienceSoft’s most strategically important units — the Technology and Competency Center of Excellence (CoE). The CoE sets company-wide competency development priorities and aligns professional growth with client and project needs. Under Mary’s guidance, the CoE strengthened how ScienceSoft assesses specialists’ skills, builds individual growth paths and mentorship programs, and prepares professionals for specific delivery needs.

In 2026, Mary took on a broader role as Executive Director of Solution Design & Competencies. In this position, her focus shifted to the solution design side of ScienceSoft’s sales process. Mary leads solution design, value definition, business case development, pricing, and proposal strategy. She also meets with clients at key stages and oversees discovery engagements, helping ensure that proposed solutions are grounded in a clear understanding of each client’s business, needs, and buying context.

Building on her work with the CoE, Mary also retains strategic oversight of company-wide competency development. She defines which domain and technology skills ScienceSoft needs to support the solutions it proposes and guides the teams responsible for developing this expertise across the company.

In parallel, Mary remains a key figure in ScienceSoft’s financial IT & AI practice. She continues to lead requirements management and project scoping for major financial services projects and mentor consultants and business analysts across complex initiatives. She also actively engages in the financial IT community, contributing to industry events and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Technology alone doesn’t make a strong solution. Understanding the client’s business, defining value, and bringing in the right expertise does. That’s what I focus on.
