Scalable StreamServe Software for Centralized Supply Chain Document Management

Customer

The Customer is a wholesale and logistics company that offers a wide range of products and cost-effective logistics services to its clients. Specializing in frozen foods and ice cream supply to retail trade and HoReCa, the company’s revenue approached €450 mln in 2015.

Challenge

With a few hundred vendors and several thousand stock keeping units (SKUs) for storage and dispatch to clients, the Customer was searching for a solution that would enable centralized document processing for printing and further distribution to recipients.

Solution

The Customer chose the StreamServe technology as the basis for optimizing the processes mentioned earlier. ScienceSoft’s specialists used it to create a repository to store invoices and other documents in the PDF format, with the storing files to be sent to the Customer’s clients. The solution allows to pick up these files from the storage on a daily basis and prepare output document batches in the AFP format for printing and sending to the company’s clients.

This solution also features functions for changing the page orientation, grouping files into envelopes in accordance with recipients’ addresses as well as adding address pages that go first in an envelope with address lines fitting the envelope’s window.

Results

ScienceSoft’s specialists delivered a tailored StreamServe-based solution to the Customer. Now, this solution ensures processing of ~2,500 pages or ~1,200 document batches per month for printing and distribution purposes.
