The Customer is a provider of award-winning cloud contact center software. Their products enable organizations to unify all customer interactions and channels and provide more personalized customer engagement. The Customer has been in the market for 20 years and their solutions have successfully supported Fortune Global 500 companies and contact centers with thousands of agents.

Challenge

To support their business in hypergrowth, keep all their multiple projects moving forward and the products evolving intensively and reliably, the Customer needed quick access to senior IT experts.

So, the Customer was looking for a trusted IT outsourcing company with verified strong experience in .NET development and DevOps, as well as a collaborative culture to seamlessly integrate the required talents into the Customer’s teams. This would allow them to speed up projects around their product development and evolution while maintaining cost efficiency and high quality.

Solution

The Customer shared their expectations regarding the developers’ and DevOps engineers’ skills and experience, as well as outlined potential tasks ScienceSoft’s team was to help with. ScienceSoft examined the Customer's requirements and qualified three .NET Developers and two DevOps Engineers experienced in designing, implementing and deploying systems and IT infrastructures across various large-scale, high-load and high-availability environments.

During one year of our collaboration, ScienceSoft's team helped the Customer streamline the development and delivery process. In particular:

  • Two .NET Developers worked on the comprehensive refactoring of a custom load testing system and helped to further automate the process of load testing.
  • One .NET Developer and two DevOps Engineers contributed to the support and optimization of a scalable AWS infrastructure and helped set up an effective delivery process. Namely, they:
    • Established an efficient CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins to speed up the delivery of reliable updates and changes.
    • Conducted audit of the existing AWS infrastructure and helped optimize cloud consumption by rightsizing EC2 instances, using reserved instances, deleting unneeded snapshots, and more.
    • Introduced deep Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation with Terraform to speed up the provisioning of the rightly configured AWS infrastructure for development, testing, production environments, as well as to scale fast and easy. SonarQube tool was added for continuous quality and security checks.
