Alex Cheushev joined ScienceSoft in 2024 as a Solution Architect, focusing specifically on the healthcare domain. Alex’s professional credentials include IASA CITA-F Certified IT Architect and membership in IASA Global (International Association of Software Architects), TOGAF certifications (TOGAF® 9 Certified, TOGAF® 9 Foundation, TOGAF® Standard, Version 9.2), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AZ-300 Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies, AZ-301 Microsoft Azure Architect Design, as well as specialized training in software architecture principles and documenting software architectures from the Software Engineering Institute.

Alex’s shift towards solution architecture began earlier in his career, when, as a Senior Software Engineer working on a boxed insurance software product, he saw how difficult on-premises installation and updates were for enterprise customers. Alex initiated and led the product’s transformation into a cloud-based service, reducing manual work, support costs, and risks for insurers. This pivotal project revealed Alex’s ability to reshape business processes through technology, setting the course for his growth as a solution architect.

In his current position at ScienceSoft, Alex focuses on cloud-native, modular, and event-driven architectures for healthcare software ecosystems, embedding HIPAA, GDPR, NIST, and Zero Trust principles into their design from the start. His expertise covers digital health and remote monitoring solutions, AI-driven risk detection and mental health platforms, insurance and claims management systems, at-home diagnostics, and large-scale hospital information systems, all with a strong emphasis on privacy, interoperability, and regulatory compliance. Alex also works closely with healthcare clients during the presales and discovery phases to translate their needs and IT constraints into sustainable, cost-aware architectural solutions.

Among Alex’s recent architecture initiatives are wearable digital health solutions, including a smart ring that tracks vitals with medical-grade accuracy. He has also led multiple mental-health–focused projects, such as a maternal mental health voice-analysis platform that detects early signs of postpartum depression and a neurochemical testing platform that uses at-home assays to deliver data-driven mental health insights. Beyond that, Alex contributed to a group health insurance management platform that unifies quoting, enrollment, claims, and payments with AI-based pricing. He also played a key role in planning the modernization of a major Saudi hospital’s information system, architecting a unified platform for patient records, pharmacy, billing, and staff management while preserving extensive historical data.

Alongside project work, Alex mentors aspiring architects through ScienceSoft’s internal solution architecture training program and conducts assessments for the Solution Architect role. As a member of ScienceSoft’s Architecture and Solutions Center of Excellence, he contributes to the growth and evolution of ScienceSoft’s architecture practice.

I chose healthcare as my focus area because it sits at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and human wellbeing. Every system you build, every integration you design, has the potential to improve someone's quality of life or even save it. Not many domains let you go home thinking that what you did today might actually help people.
