Customer

The Customer is Siberian Service Company (SSK) that specializes in exploration and production drilling of oil and gas wells, directional drilling, sidetracking, mud elaboration and support, well cementation.

Challenge

The Customer had a vast area of operation and a large amount of branches in different regions of the country. Therefore, it met a necessity to create a unified management system and provide one-source support for more than 5,000+ employees located in 30 geographically dispersed offices.

Solution

ScienceSoft’s team created the SharePoint intranet, accessible within all domains of the corporate intranet and integrated with accounting and HR systems.

  • After the successful implementation and launch of all portal components, it was passed to ScienceSoft’s support team that provided the Customer with the whole range of SharePoint support services to meet new requirements for further development of the corporate system.

During the support period, ScienceSoft developed additionally:

  • A Corporate Calendar that allowed employees to manage their schedules.
  • Informers and social tools (wiki pages, a corporate chat) aiming to extend the corporate knowledge base and stimulate informal corporate communication.
  • Personal sites and team sites were developed to involve employees into the corporate life providing them with opportunities for blogging, following colleagues and observing users’ activities.

After several years of the project realization, a new version of SharePoint was introduced (Microsoft SharePoint 2013). Having built strong partnership with ScienceSoft, the Customer addressed its wish to migrate the corporate intranet to the newest version of the platform. With a deep understanding of migration mechanisms, ScienceSoft experts elaborated a detailed migration plan and accomplished a quick movement of the Customer’s content without disrupting business processes.

Results

The Customer got a collaboration point that has increased the efficiency of information management processes and, therefore, increased the productivity of the core business.
