Customer

A big European IT company with customers in more than 25 countries around the world. With about 500 experts on board, the Customer serves its clients in the area of custom software development, mobile development and IT services.

Challenge

The Customer faced the need of switching to digital PBX to avoid extending wires to each workplace. In addition, the Customer needed a powerful tool to organize internal and external multiuser voice / video conferences as well as share files and documents.

Solution

Since the whole infrastructure was based on Microsoft technology, ScienceSoft experts in the Microsoft Office 365 collaboration platform offered Microsoft Lync as a solution.

During the deployment, ScienceSoft integrated Lync with Cisco Unified Border Element to organize connection with external VoIP providers – one of which was Skype.

In the end, the Customer got a full-fledged IP telephony that allows users to make calls through various SIP providers.

Initially the project was done on Lync 2010, currently it is being migrating to Lync 2013 to provide more functionality.

Results

ScienceSoft experts completed Lync deployment for 500 users on time and within the budget. All the services were deployed with redundant fault tolerance to ensure continuous work. The Customer was completely satisfied with ScienceSoft’s performance and entrusted us a new project on migration to Lync 2013.

In addition to migration to Lync 2013, we are currently involved in migration to Office 365 for the Customer.
