ScienceSoft CEO Nick Kurayev Speaks With Wealth & Finance International on AI Transformation in Finance

ScienceSoft‘s CEO Nick Kurayev gave an interview to Wealth & Finance International, a global source of news, research, and award programs for the financial services sector. Nick shared his perspective on what distinguishes true AI transformation from isolated AI adoption and what it takes to implement it successfully in finance.

“To us, AI transformation starts when you look at how work is organized: how decisions are made, how data moves, where experts lose time, where customers wait, and where the current operating model is no longer fast or flexible enough,” Nick said.

Discussing ScienceSoft’s key delivery principles, Nick highlighted a culture of innovation that helps teams keep pace with rapidly evolving AI technologies and practices. He also emphasized the importance of deep research and early testing of emerging AI technologies to enable controlled, business-focused AI adoption.

“In regulated industries, anything ‘new’ is not a virtue but an added risk. So, before we recommend a new technology to clients, we need to know how it will stand up to compliance review,” Nick noted.

Another focus of the interview was the growing importance of AI governance in regulated environments. Nick explained why financial organizations need to look beyond model performance and address accountability, supervision, security, and compliance from the outset, particularly as more autonomous AI systems move toward production use.

Looking ahead, Nick described AI transformation services as a major growth direction for ScienceSoft. He spoke about the company’s plans to strengthen its leadership in AI for investment management and insurance, deepen its consulting and delivery capabilities, and expand its work with financial services organizations in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
