10-Year Growth of a Popular LMS Product in Sweden and Iceland

The Customer is a European provider of web and mobile learning solutions.
Challenge
The Customer offers a learning management system (LMS) product, which is used by numerous schools in Sweden and Iceland. As a part of the continuous evolution strategy, the Customer needed to enrich its product with several new features and integrations. Lacking the relevant in-house resources, the Customer decided to augment its development team to implement the required functionality.
Solution
Impressed with ScienceSoft’s eLearning software development expertise, the Customer repeatedly engaged our professionals to introduce new features, aligning the engagements with the product evolution strategy milestones. To develop a new feature, the Customer typically requested from ScienceSoft the following pool of talents: three back-end developers, two front-end developers, and two test engineers. Some of the most recent features we helped implement included:
- Consent forms for teachers to get parents’ consent to students’ participation in events like photoshoots, school trips, etc.
- Leave requests submission (verified by parents) if students are to miss school.
- Integration with calendars (Google, Outlook, etc.) that allows synchronizing the system’s in-app schedule with the personal calendars of students and teachers.
- Integration with Microsoft Teams that enables linking classes, assignments, etc. from Teams to relevant entities in the LMS, as well as managing them.
Results
As of December 2022, our cooperation with the Customer has lasted for over 10 years already. When the need arises, ScienceSoft’s LMS professionals reinforce the Customer’s team to help deliver new features in line with the milestones of the product evolution strategy.
