Responsive UI Design for an Online Booking Web Application

Customer

The Customer is a European company in the travel and hospitality industry. They own several business centers with multiple conference rooms, which they rent out to companies and representatives in need of a place to hold a business meeting.

Challenge

The Customer had under development a web application that would allow their clients to choose a suitable meeting room, book it, and pay for the reservation online. While having a complete UI design for a web app’s desktop version, the Customer lacked a mobile-optimized design to provide quality user experience to mobile users as well.

Solution

ScienceSoft’s UI designer focusing on responsive design undertook the task to optimize the desktop UI for mobile.

In terms of 2 weeks, ScienceSoft’s design expert created a mobile version of the desktop UI based on the desktop wireframes provided by the Customer. Even though mobile-specific UI elements (hamburger menu, bottom navigation, etc.) were introduced to ensure mobile user satisfaction, the visual style reflected in the desktop UI was fully preserved and in line with the Customer’s brand book.

Results

The mobile UI was approved by the Customer and used in the frontend development of the web app.
