Integrated Security Group & ScienceSoft to Enhance Shooter on Scene App

Published:

In the critical first minutes of an active shooter event, most people are forced to make life-or-death decisions without guidance. Integrated Security Group (ISG) is working with ScienceSoft to change that. Integrated Security Group (ISG), a US veteran-owned emergency preparedness company, has partnered with ScienceSoft, an IT consulting and software development company, to enhance its Shooter on Scene (SoS) mobile application with emergency response guidance. The new function will enable sending emergency alerts with GPS location to on-site security and support integration with 911 systems.

The Shooter on Scene (SoS) is a real-time decision support app used during active threat events. It was created by ISG to combine emergency notifications with responder-informed, step-by-step guidance during active shooter incidents. It is a personal safety companion that adapts to the user’s conditions and provides real-time visual and voice instructions for critical actions such as finding cover, securing doors, or identifying safe exit routes. The app stands out for translating emergency response guidance into clear, immediate actions for the people on the scene. ISG’s SoS application has received initial approval under the SAFETY Act and is currently progressing through the designation process, recognizing its role in advancing emergency response capabilities.

Ryan Kress, Founder at ISG, says:

ISG’s mission is to protect people and create safer workplaces through a holistic approach that strengthens both prevention and response. ISG supports organizations with prevention planning and expert-led training, and with Shooter on Scene, we’re extending that support into the critical minutes of an incident.”

As ISG’s technology partner, ScienceSoft is supporting the next release of the SoS app through architecture design, requirements definition, and delivery planning. The upcoming release is set to introduce a silent panic button, multi-channel alerting to on-site security and nearby occupants, enhanced location capture, and administrative tools for monitoring and response. The app will integrate with emergency response platforms such as RapidSOS, enabling compatible 911 centers to receive enhanced location and situational data where supported.

Ryan Kress, Founder at ISG, says:

“We’re excited to bring people an end-to-end emergency response tool, shortening both time-to-action and time-to-notification.”
