Getting a Multi-Vendor DWH Development Project Back on Track

Challenge

One of the world’s leading stock market regulators commissioned two subcontractors to develop its data analytics solution. The communication and knowledge sharing among the vendors’ 30+ stakeholders was poorly organized and slowed down the project. Additionally, the vendors didn’t have structured workflows for processing change requests, which ultimately resulted in scope creep. About 40% of the project’s duration was spent on communication alone.

ScienceSoft helped the institution formalize requirements gathering and change processing. We reorganized the development teams into 10 smaller, more manageable units, established optimal meeting and reporting schedules, and set up a shared knowledge repository to enhance progress visibility. Challenge

A North American investment company engaged ScienceSoft to replace its legacy document management system (DMS) with a new cloud solution for collaborative document management. Any minor logic flaw or security vulnerability in the DMS would expose the client to risks of data breaches, which was unacceptable.

Our architect created a secure DMS architecture and tech stack that best fit the client’s case. Following secure coding standards like OWASP ASVS helped our engineers eliminate DMS vulnerability risks at the code level. The QA team ran functional and security testing in parallel with coding so that developers could quickly fix the identified issues. Thanks to the robust quality management practices applied by the project team, the client received a high-quality DMS that ensured safe multi-party document creation.
